Remediation and waste management
Remediation activities and other waste management services is the second classification recorded against the company. It covers the point at which a controlled material stops being a working charge and becomes something that has to be accounted for and dealt with under the rules that apply to it.
The container nobody wants to sign for
Most waste enquiries in this trade start the same way. A site is being cleared, or a lease is ending, or an audit has turned something up, and there is a cylinder or a vessel that nobody is willing to put their name to. It may be labelled. The label may be wrong. It may be full, or it may have been empty for years.
The first task is to establish what it is. Only then is it possible to say what route it has to take, what has to be recorded, and what the person handing it over will end up holding as evidence that it was dealt with properly.
Paperwork is the deliverable
Under United Kingdom law, waste carries a statutory duty of care: it has to be described accurately, transferred to a person entitled to receive it, and the transfer has to be documented. That is a legal position, not a service claim, and it applies to the holder of the material as well as to anybody who takes it away.
What that means for an enquiry here is simple enough. The documentation is not an afterthought at the end of the job — it is most of the reason for doing the job through a controlled process in the first place.

What route a particular material can take, what documentation will be produced with it, and what authorisation any part of the work requires, are confirmed in writing for the specific enquiry. This page does not state that any particular permit, registration or scheme membership is held, and it should not be read that way.
When a site is being emptied
Clearance work tends to produce a mixed picture: a few things that are straightforward, one or two that are not, and at least one item that turns out to be the reason the whole job needed planning. It is worth raising the enquiry with the awkward items rather than the easy ones, because those are what determine the sequence.
An inventory — even a rough one, even a set of photographs of labels — is far more useful at the enquiry stage than a general description of the site.
